Mind Set is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cultural and technological innovation through cutting-edge research and transformative education. Our mission is to explore the evolving cultural landscape shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), fostering a deeper understanding of its societal impacts. Led by seasoned experts in entrepreneurship, product design, and technology transfer, we empower the next generation—particularly disadvantaged youth—through hands-on educational programs that ignite creativity, teach design thinking, and introduce intellectual property and entrepreneurial principles. By bridging AI research with community-driven education, Mind Set equips individuals with the tools to navigate and shape a technology-driven future, creating lasting impact in Colorado and beyond.
Mind Set delivers innovative programs that combine rigorous research with accessible education, aligning with our mission to drive cultural and technological progress while serving the community, especially underserved youth. Our key programs include:
AI Cultural Trends Research Initiative: We conduct pioneering research in collaboration with institutions like the Air Force Research Laboratory to study how AI reshapes cultural trends, social dynamics, and human-technology interactions. Our work advances technology through prototyping and analysis, contributing to scientific knowledge and informing community strategies for ethical AI adoption.
GameQuest™ Design and Engineering Experience: This week-long, no-cost workshop engages middle and high school students, with a focus on disadvantaged youth, in hands-on design thinking and prototype building. Participants create game-inspired projects using tools like 3D printing and learn intellectual property basics and entrepreneurship. GameQuest™ fosters creativity, problem-solving, and STEM skills.
Youth Innovation Workshops: Offered free to local schools, these workshops introduce students to design thinking, rapid prototyping, and the fundamentals of starting a company. Guided by our expert team, students explore real-world applications of AI and technology, building confidence and skills to pursue STEM careers. Over 200 students have participated, with 70% from underserved communities.
Technology Transfer and Community Outreach: We facilitate the transfer of AI-driven innovations to practical applications, collaborating with partners to deliver educational seminars and resources on intellectual property and technology commercialization. These efforts support local entrepreneurs and educators, strengthening Colorado’s innovation ecosystem.
